Job Description

Overview:
To assist in the preparation, cooking, service, and delivery of food and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists in preparation, service and delivery of food.
2. Keeps equipment, storage areas, and kitchen clean and orderly.
3. Does special cleaning, organizes storage areas and other related duties.
4. Delivers food throughout the facility and auxiliary buildings as needed in a timely manner.
5. Prepares and serves quality food in an appropriate, sanitary, and timely manner.
6. Serves food according to diet order.
7. Maintains a high level of sanitation in dietary area.
8. Participates in the Quality Assurance Assessment system; Mealtime Assessment, Environmental Assessment; Interaction Assessment and Third Shift Assessment.
9. Adheres to personal cleanliness, neatness, and conduct standards at all times.
10. Is able to work independently.
11. Prepares/Cooks food as needed in accordance with approved standards and nutritional guidelines.

B. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Performs other duties as assigned.
2. Ensures confidentiality regarding sensitive material including employee and service user’s rights to privacy, and protected health information.

SUPERVISION:
No direct supervisory responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
HS diploma or G.E.D.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and follow instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:
Able to think clearly and precisely and logically. Capable of making decision with good judgmental outcomes. Able to comprehend simple sentences or questions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A valid North Carolina driver’s license may be required. Personal auto liability insurance is mandatory if transporting service users in private/personal vehicle(s).

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Maintain proficiency in company sponsored/required training. The following certifications may be required: CPR, First Aid, NCI A, NCI B, CPI, and/or others as specified/required by state and federal standards/regulations and/or company policy.
