RHA is seeking an organized and positive Clinical Director for our START program.

As a Clinical Director, you will provide oversight and consultation on behavioral supports to NC START West Team.  Provide training and consultation to staff, families, and providers.  Participate in recurring team meetings as necessary.  Develop behavior support plan recommendations as necessary for guests at respite that require more extensive safety measures.  Participate in discussion regarding potential respite admissions and provide on-site consultation as needed for guests receiving respite services.

  
To qualify for this position the employee must meet have a Master’s degree in mental health, psychology or social work and licensed or provisionally licensed by the state’s board with experience working with the IDD/MI population. Experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), specifically with people who have IDD and mental health and/or challenging behavior needs as well as individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Experience with crisis prevention and intervention services preferred


Responsibilities Include:
  

Manages Staff Training and Development- Provide training and consultation to staff, families, and providers including conducting CETs, ongoing programmatic outreach. Assist START coordinators with preparation for START coordinator certification. Engages in career/professional development.

Directs Quality Management Programs- Provides on-site consultation as needed for guests receiving center-based or community-based supports. Provide on-site consultation as needed for guests receiving center-based and/or mobile supports. Develop positive behavior supports as necessary for guests at the resource center who require more extensive safety measures. Provide oversight and consultation on behavioral supports and other written documents.

Performs Clinical Responsibilities- Provide clinical support to the Resource Center .Assists in discharge planning for individuals utilizing the Resource Center. Actively participates in daily triage sessions, weekly and monthly consultative staffing. Assists with clinical projects associated with START model implementation. Assists with backup on-call responsibilities for the NC START East team. Participate in discussion regarding potential resource center admissions. Enters data and information into SIRS. Review START-related documentation and provide input. Other duties as assigned as necessary


Job Requirements

Our ideal START Clinical Director is an excellent communicator and cooperative team player who excels at interviewing the people we serve to learn about their interests and goals, even individuals who cannot communicate verbally. You must also be detail-oriented and have excellent written communication skills to develop and disseminate person-centered plans.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses:
  • Master’s degree in mental health, psychology or social work and licensed or provisionally licensed by the state’s board with experience working with the IDD/MI population.
